Masters Scholarship – Computer Science:
We are offering a R160,000/year scholarship for full-time masters study in Computer Science (by dissertation). The successful candidate will explore efficient techniques for data pipelining, scheduling and synchronization of routing/peering datasets. This will include evaluating strategies for data replication and caching.
The masters applicant must have an Honours degree in Computer Science (or equivalent), preferably with strong skills in Computer Networks and Data Science. The masters programme in Computer Science will involve two years of full-time study at UCT. The masters student may be funded for a maximum of 2 years; renewal after the first year is subject to an annual progress review. The successful candidate will also receive a one-time grant of R20,000 for the purchase of a laptop.
This project is to be undertaken in the Computer Science Department at the University of Cape Town (UCT), with support from AFRINIC and Internet Society. As part of the application process, candidates will be required to submit a 2-page research proposal.
